Angel is a young dog that was found in poor health and posted on social media for a rescuer. The finders had believed her to be pregnant but Amanda let them know that she was not pregnant, but rather had a health problem called ascites. Ascites is a condition in which fluid collects in spaces within the abdomen. As fluid collects in the abdomen, it can affect the lungs, kidneys, and other organs. Ascites causes abdominal pain, swelling, nausea, vomiting, and other difficulties. In the messaging about the needed care, Amanda fell for Angel’s need and offered to accept her here. She went and picked her up to go right to the vet for her first fluid draining. Her wonderful disposition at the vet is what spawned the name, for she was truly behaving angelically. Angel became a very expensive rescue, needing repeated draining, blood infusions, and specialized food and supplements to help correct her deficiencies. Finally after becoming healthy and getting spayed, she was adopted by a wonderful local woman who still sends updates from time to time. We love you Angel!
